Why Is It So Hard To Get A Comic Book Printed?

I want to tell you that I have 250 hot-off-the-presses Blackguard #1s, but I can't because I don't.

Talking to my new printer on the phone a couple of weeks ago gave me hope. He was great! Everything was gonna go smoothly, and I could even have 125 stapled, and the other 125 perfect bound! He even told me he would whip up a couple of sample copies and mail them to me for inspection. It was so wonderful after all the trouble with Chinese Funbo, and the others. But those sample copies still haven't arrived, and that wonderful new print dude of mine will not reply to my emails or text messages. I did manage to get him on the phone again the other day but he said he was driving his car, so I didn't get to talk to him for long, but he still promised that the sample copies were on the way. And when I asked again for a quote, he just said, 'Don't worry! They'll be cheap! Cheap!"

You must be getting sick of all this, I know I am. It's especially frustrating because putting the comic together was a dream, all my old comix friends came through with their stuff almost as though they had been working on them even before I realised it was time to start a new comix anthology. So it's hard to understand why getting the things printed has been such a nightmare.

Well, I still believe that this dude is the one meant to print Blackguard (however crazy that sounds), so I'm gonna get this sorted out next week for sure, or put my head through a wall.

In the meantime, how about another 'Best of Sick Puppy'? Here’s Q-Ray’s ‘Naked Kung Fu’ from Sick Puppy #9.
